Base Mosquito return for the third time and it's another unique blend that's on offer.
'Monsta Chick' is a song in many guises. There's the Radio Edit, the Breaks Club mix, a Retro Deep Tech Remix, Deep Tech Club Mix and even a Funky House Club Mix, which is what I'm listening to at the moment.
It all starts with a solid bass line and funky beat. It grows into a throbbing bright track before adding the vocal for the briefest of melodies before the track comes to an end.
You certainly have to give it to them, this is an unconventional song structure, which is reminiscent of the way Gene could put together a song that closed with a lone rendition of a chorus.
The Radio Edit contains a vocal from the start and is a bit more traditional in that sense, but all of the mixes treat the vocal as an addition to the music rather than the focus, which shows a commitment to getting the beat going on the dance-floor.
