We recently caught up with Cling to chat about all things music and most importantly what awaits them in the future.
How did Cling get together and what's the meaning behind the name?
The real story of Cling is a love story, a star-crossed meeting of two true soulmates who create something unique and inspiring together. We thought the name sounded appropriate because we were always clinging to each other.
You released Sonic Spells in 2006, were you prepared for all the media interest you acquired?
We were delighted with the attention we got from Sonic Spells, but in this business it is never enough, we need the maximum amount of media attention possible and more!
Some of your tracks have been featured on Welcome To The Scene, how did that come about?
Being featured on the Scene came about when they contacted us, we don't know how they found us but we're glad they did as it really upped our profile.
What was it like playing to 2,000 people at The Kelvedon Free Music Festival last summer?
Kelvedon was amazing, it was so uplifting for us to play in front of loads of people, it really does give you a buzz. It was Susi's birthday as well, so it was quite a day!
What inspires your music?
Our music is inspired by the desire to portray an independent perception of a style of expression that liberates the mind from 'main-stream' music that is all too common place.
What can we expect from Cling this year?
This year you can expect more sonic wizardry from Cling, we are in the process of working on new material and are stirring up some new spells in the cauldron.
Anything else you'd like to share with The Mag readers?
Every day we receive dozens of messages online, full of appreciation and encouragement for our music and we would really like to thank all our fans, the old faithfuls and the new, for their support, it means the world to us and helps us to move forward.
