Clipper is no stranger to the grime scene, as a member of Fire Camp he toured the UK and recorded with Lethal Bizzle, Ozzie B and 2Face. He is now releasing his solo material through the record label he co-founded with fellow Fire Camp member Gam.
Recorded under his Clipson moniker, 'The Weekend' shows off the three most important talents of any MC, namely lyrical skill, strong vocal delivery and strong melodic singing in the chorus. This is a party song about getting crazy drunk with your mates.
This record is inspired by some big names, but doesn't borrow too heavily from any influence. Instead, what we have on our hands has a uniquely British flavour. As Clipson told us recently, "Bob Marley inspires me to release my emotions via singing and 2Pac and Biggie inspire me to think out of the box and write some serious verse's while using my own experiences that the listeners can relate to."
This record has a very strong sense of identity and an undeniably awesome sound.
