Three blistering songs stack up at the front of The World Is Too Big For One Lifetime. Not just good songs, but awesome tunes. Is it too early to suggest that this latest offering from Die So Fluid has the makings of a masterpiece?
Dark and twisted lyrics accompany a spiky musical offering in 'Figurine', it's Die So Fluid under the influence of the first album, but with some new directions for their power-trio sound. 'Mercury' follows, all crunch and bite with a planet-sized melody that oozes with sweetness over edgy lyrics.
The humble opening moments of 'Storm' quickly turns into an immense song and one of the most stunning on the record due to it's midnight-blue brilliance.
This album is full of big chunky songs, like the smouldering title track, which is full to the brim with big bassy tones and elegant guitars or 'What A Heart Is For', which lets Grog's melody soar over waves of big guitar sounds.
What this band offer are the thrills and power of rock metal, but with massive hooks and melodies that you just don't find on this kind of record. It's absolutely excellent.
