Erin K and Tash kick off Oh Well EP with the song from which the title is lifted, 'Oh Well'.
The skiffle beat and folky acoustic guitars are reminiscent of Plain White Ts, but with a strong Feist reference in the vocal.
'Jiggy Miggy' is a bit less melodic and much more off-the-wall, with overtly sexual - but entirely practical lyrics and this ushers in the acoustic equivalent of Zooey-Deschanle's fictitious band, Munchausen By Proxy.
The lyrics are actually very high-brow and more than a little amusing in 'Crazy and Insane', which is positively the most charming song ever written. You have to listen to this song at least twice, once before you know what it's all about and once again afterwards.
'Clippety Clop' is hand-clap heaven with an infusion of nursery rhymes, drug references and self-deprecation.
It all ends with 'The Sexy Cupcake Ditty', which is either a huge euphemism, or a song about cooking. Perhaps the previous songs have inflicted upon me a dirty mind?
This record does start with a lie, 'Oh Well' is a fantastic song, but one that may lead you to the wrong conclusions. It starts off with an acoustic pop delight, but the rest of the record is an anti-folk masterpiece of the highest order.
