'Don't Mess With My Song' is a cool pop track from Floodliners that has a few hints at La Roux.
They keep things light in the verse, with things a bit more dense in the chorus, but still leaving plenty of space.
This proves you don't need to be too complicated to write a good song. This track doesn't rely on any clever tricks, just a good melody and decent hooks.
