Hello Wembley are at it again! If they were older, they'd be grumpy old men sat on a bench on a busy street, complaining about how people dress and that we don't have any manners.
As it is, they're having a go at their peers with 'Lead Singer Syndrome'. It has their usual splattering of brands and clichés as well as cries of "death to the Kaiser Chiefs". It's so similar in spirit to 'Up Great Britain' it defies belief. At least this time they've picked just one thing to moan about, albeit just as likely a hypocrisy as before.
On the plus side (and I'm desperately scratching around to find something positive) the recording is much better this time around; more dynamic and much fuller. The song also has a pleasing façade of punk-attitude and the tune is alright (if you're Donny Tourette).
It's out now on a pink vinyl and because of a great flip-side, supplied by Trouble With Me, it is actually worth owning.
