The look on my face during the easy-world-elevator-music intro probably rather accurately reflected my thoughts at the time.
This swirling intro is no indicator of what's to come as Linus Maybe recite their tongue in cheek 'Rockstar' lyrics, which take a pop at some of the bigger names in the music business via the medium of blues-indie-rock with a twist. Their sound is the kind of thing you'd get if you added a generous splash of Reef to the playfulness of Milk Kan.
The verses are the best bit on this song, with the chorus almost, but not quite, supplying the killer hook this song needs to really hit home.
'Rockstar' comes from Linus Maybe's forthcoming album Attitude, which is released on 12th June.
