Described as a mixture of urban poets and busking punks, Milk Kan are a unique band with tales of woe, hardship and life. They have supported Babyshambles, The Strokes and The King Blues in the past, and have gained fans from all over the world. This brand new single is a thoroughly enjoyable listen and I will certainly be keeping track of this band.
Opening title track 'I'm A Nobody' is a joyous 3 minute romp of folk guitars and witty lyrics. Sounding like a mixture of Jamie T and The King Blues, it instantly remained in my head for the rest of the day and quickly took residence in my i-tunes play list. I could listen to this track for the rest of my life and never get bored.
Next up was 'The Salt Over The Wrong Shoulder' and although its lyrics were catchy it failed to grab my attention as much as 'I'm a Nobody' did. Nevertheless it is a strong tune, and highlights the band's gift for writing.
Milk Kan's debut album is released on March 9th and I for one will certainly be purchasing it. I recommend you do the same, you will not be disappointed.
