It's always tough to judge a hand-crafted record. Those bedsit-studio recordings with home-baked artwork and a budget the size of a BCG scab.
Because of the limitations, I'm partially willing to ignore the jarring mix and, at times, awful drums. I'm even going to attempt to overlook some bass guitar parts that, quite frankly, would bore a trainspotting stamp-collector.
So, set all that aside and what have you got? Well, some interesting songs with strong currents of George Harrison's later contributions to The Beatles, Scott Walker without an orchestra and Ian Brown (as he's always been).
There are also some unhinged contributions, but 'I Think You Ought To Know', the U2 style 'Call it a Day' and the quirky-pop of 'Time For Me To Leave' are good songs. For those that like the more abstact side of music, 'Jadu' and 'Trash' supple wierdness-a-plenty.
There is a ton of talent in the guitar and vocal department, but the rest needs sorting out.
