Rough Citizen

Rough Citizen is a solo project with a full band line-up based out of Brighton. With an epic-indie sound and penchant for drama, these songs really hit the spot.

'Following Circles' starts off with a subtle guitar line, that spins and swirls while the other instruments gradually join in. I'm not a fan of the drums on this record, they don't live up to giant anticipation that the guitars cause. It doesn't prevent the song from getting bigger and bigger though and overall, this is a real classic.

An acoustic guitar opens 'Nuclear'. This is a warmer sound than the opening track. It picks up a bit of pace as it goes, twinkling like sunset off of a windscreen.

'Fluorescent' sounds like a gentle version of the Silversun Pickups, gently strumming away on crunchy sounding guitars with lots of ambient notes softly flitting through the background.

These are three very different songs, with 'Following Circles' being the most original sounding track, with its hollow eerie core.
