We recently caught up with Synikall to talk about his new single 'Digital Luv'.

What has the reaction to your new single 'Digital Luv' been like?

Really good, the energy around the track has snowballed ever since I first got it out of the studio. Everyone I've talked to about it has really been feeling it and so far, so have the press and DJ's I've hit up. I knew the track had legs but from this reaction on an underground level, I wanna try take this as far as the potential will allow!

Where would you most like to hear you music being played?

Radio and Clubs! I'm a big raver so it would be amazing to hear my tunes on a night out. I always feel great when I look out from the stage and see people vibing, dancing and just generally having a good time! That's a massive reason why I make music!

You want to reach a wider audience with your new single, who in particular would you like to reach out to?

Anyone and everyone! I'm experimenting with my sound a lot more on this album so they'll be something for every listener. I do have a pretty broad taste in music but haven't applied that to my own tracks in the past as I've stuck to straight hip hop but I have every confidence in my ability to connect with a diverse audience so keep your ear to the ground.

You've teamed up with Roy Reid for 'Digital Luv' why in particular did you choose to collaborate together?

On the back of my last mix 'Game Is Mine', we met through a mutual friend. Roy was in a group called Out The Boxx and they wanted me on a track. From there we've always kept in touch and when I started writing 'Digital Luv', I knew Roy would be perfect on the hook! He come round my yard, I played him the track and he was on it straight away! The man has got the same passion for this art that I do and our energy levels are on a par as well so that's what I think makes both the track and the video work so well!

The video for 'Digital Luv' is pretty impressive, how long did it take you to record the video and what went into making it so great?

We worked extremely hard on this project, it took 2 days worth of shooting which we all had to mould round our day-jobs which threw another element into the mix but we got there in the end. We spent a whole day locked in a green screen studio shooting for the special effects and we were all knackered by the end of it but all worth it for the results we got. I think what sets this video apart from usual hip hop videos is that there's a storyline following throughout as opposed to touching up a girl for the hell of it! Also, when the special effects are introduced, they're not there for the hell of it either and it doesn't make it confusing for the viewer.

'Digital Luv' has quite a strong meaning about relationships, could you tell us a bit more about the inspiration behind the track?

Yeah, I was inspired by the way the dating game is these days. I prefer to speak and flirt with a girl face-to-face for the main reason that you know where you stand straight away. But there's an unwritten rule these days that once you meet a girl, your texting or chatting over facebook loads before you hook up! I'm sure millions have been down the same road so I decided to put it all on track and whack a hook on it.

Your album Elektro Skank is due for release in the Autumn, what can we expect from that release?

Lot's of heavy bass, catchy lyrics and sickening rhythms!!! As I said before, I'm exploring my sound loads on this album. Parts of the album are very electronic sounding with a heavy influence from electro house, bassline etc. Other parts have some really great rock-riffs bursting out along with my main lady hiphop and a bit of funky house for good measure. I'm looking at what the mainstream artists are doing at present and aiming to build on this and progress it so I can lead a new wave of popular music throughout the years to come.

Do you have any live performances booked this year?

I'm pencilled in for a few dates, all of which will be listed on my website when I get the paperwork through but my next performance will be in Walsall towards the end of July. I'm also looking at doing the rounds at Student Unions and Under18's raves from September onwards, in talks at the moment so all will be revealed in good time. I'll also be competing in a national competition for all genres called Open Mic UK from August which I'll need every ones support for as there's £50k at stake!.

Anything else you'd like to share with our readers?

There's loads! But for now I'll just tell you about my new venture. I've teamed up with digital media company ShenShen Motion and I'm going to be co-producing and presenting a new internet TV show providing a visual platform for the Urban Scene in the UK. Think 'The Lick meets YouTube'! We'll have coverage of the hottest events, interviews with the best up-coming artists and plenty of banter along the way! I'm currently in talks with a few sites who are set to be the home of the show but it will also be available on YouTube, my website and the ShenShen Motion site. Keep checking in with me on my site and Facebook for regular updates!
