Sounding like and indie-fied version of Free, The Circus Sounds mix modern British indie with a big dollop of retrospective power pop in their latest single, 'Dr Death'.
As far as the instruments go, it's all kept incredibly simple, which adds to the impact of the melody. The simple repeated chorus gives the main hook, which has vintage pedigree.
This is rare kind of song. It doesn't go all-out for the stun, it just keeps things classic and simple, which is a rare but excellent idea. I love it.
