The Great Statesmen

The Great Statesmen start off dangerously, having listed the Foo Fighters among their influences, with a track called 'One By One'. For two seconds, it even sounds like they are about to us "that" riff too, before they head off in their own direction and save the day.

'One By One' is, in fact, a tidy pop track with a big shimmering chorus. The vocal is confident and comparable to Brigade's Will Simpson.

The momentum is continued in the excellent 'Do It For The Kids' before the stomping emo anthem, 'Nothing Changes' finishes it all off with a chest clutching chorus and a fantastically simple solo.

The Great Statesmen are an appealing prospect that would nestle amongst bands such as Snow Patrol and Razorlight very comfortably.
