The Manic Shine are "combining the vitality and soul of classic rock with the intricacy and experimentation of a distinctly modern sensibility". And listening to these three songs, I can confirm that this is not a pretentious claim.
It all starts off with a sparkle and continues with the bright tones of 'Pretend', which has a massive chorus and a stunning melody.
'Burn Me On The Ceiling' definitely has a hint at retro foot stomping rock, but with something new and dynamic chopping and rolling throughout the song.
The band show off some tidy time-signature-y in 'The Escape', which is a brooding track with lots of twists and turns. The instrumental solo is entirely epic and the level of craftsmanship in the song is jaw dropping.
A band of this quality and creativity you just don't find very often.
