The Wombats

My CircuitBoard City is the first material released from The Wombats since their debut album A Guide to Love, Loss And Desperation, and it certainly lives up to the album's impressive high standards. The clever lyrics entwine impressively with the band's new post-punk direction and the chorus is extremely catchy.

The hi-octane, partying ethos is still immersed into the single, yet the band appear slightly darker in both lyrical content and genre style. The band feel their sound has developed and matured and I agree with them wholeheartedly.

2008 was a massive year for The Wombats, two sold out tours, playing the Royal Albert Hall and a combination of various massive festival appearances, including them headlining the NME stage at Leeds/Reading. My Circuit Board City is released on March 16th and although it's no 'Moving To New York', the band are still highly impressive and prove they are capable of many hits on both the commercial and underground indie scene.
