The Wookies use folky laces to tie up their rock shoes in this unusual and artistic EP.
There are guitar-accompanies chants, retro organ sounds, total wig-outs and a general psychedelic groove at work here. From the first sparks of the unpredictable 'In The Forest' right through to the sobriety of 'Daylight', this record has something new at every turn.
'Doomsday' is my particular favourite, with it's unusual three-four meets two hand-claps rhythm. There's some amazing piano in the middle and a guitar solo that fits the song like a glove. It has a strong verse and serious-sounding chorus and it all flows really well.
They are an odd band by design, but they know how to make their sound work.
