Unsigned artists are cashing in on the first ever website to pay big money for their music.

iWahh, launched early April 2010, pays its members up to £50 a week for their music and video uploads. The songs and videos are entered into a chart, rated by listeners andthe Top 20 get paid.

Joe 'Ess Pee' Shownmi 23, was one of the first members to profit from the website which has been described as the 'next evolutionary phase in online music and social media' since the birth of Facebook, YouTube and MySpace.

John, who is now £50 better off having topped the chart last week said: "I was overwhelmed. It gave me and the other artists involved a small taste of what it's like to be in a chart and get paid like asigned artist, the buzz I got from being number 1 was immense."

To ensure members get their hands on their dosh quickly and safely, iWahh has teamed up with the Post Office who will send secure emails with barcodes, which can be printed off and exchanged for their cashat any Post Office nationwide. This method of payment is usually reserved for local authorities and utility companies, making iWahh the first web-based company to offer this simple, fast and safe method ofpayment.

Lee Cole, the founder of iWahh added "The idea behind iWahh was to relieve the frustrations of many unsigned artists, by providing a way to convert their sounds into £pounds. With mainstream chart videosalso available, iWahh allows easy comparison of the official signed and unsigned charts under one roof, matching them together side by side and providing more exposure for unsigned artists."

iWahh is free to join, offers free downloads, access to the latest music videos from both signed and unsigned charts, as well as social networking with friends and artists.
